Job summary

Wardstone in Los Angeles is seeking a senior aerodynamics engineer to own the aerodynamics of interceptors, shape external design, and build/maintain the aerodynamic database (ADB) used by flight simulations. You will work directly with the founders and with mechanical, GNC, and propulsion engineers to translate concepts into flight-ready models.

You will guide wind tunnel tests, update models with flight data, and run analyses across supersonic regimes to ensure performance under launcher

Qualifications

• 5+ years of applied aerodynamics experience on flight vehicles.
• Experience building aerodynamic databases for flight simulation.
• Strong command of supersonic aerodynamics and stability and control.
• Hands-on CFD experience with recognized tools.
• Experience with engineering-level aerodynamic prediction tools.
• Proficiency in Python or MATLAB for analysis and automation.
• Must be a U.S. person eligible for ITAR and security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Own the aerodynamic design of interceptor vehicles from concept to flight.
• Build and maintain the aerodynamic database (ADB) for simulations.
• Plan and execute wind tunnel tests and correlate with flight data.
• Run CFD and other analyses to assess stability and control across regimes.
• Model propulsion-aerodynamics interactions with the propulsion team.
