Job summary

Ajax Building Company, part of the STO Building Group, is seeking a hands-on Superintendent in Orlando, FL, to lead field operations, manage craft and subcontractor teams, and ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and to high standards.

The role requires 8–10+ years of supervisory experience, including leadership on ground-up correctional/detention facilities, with strong safety and communication skills. Travel to project sites is required, reporting to the General Superintendent.

Qualifications

• 8–10+ years of supervisory experience in construction.
• Strong lead superintendent experience on ground-up correctional/detention facilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field.
• Active/Occupied Public Safety / Correctional project experience.
• Excellent communication, organizational and supervisory skills.
• Thorough knowledge of safety requirements.
• Thorough knowledge of construction technologies, equipment, and methods.
• Ability to motivate employees and handle project situations.
• Experience in prison systems as field supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Supervise total construction effort to ensure project is built per design, budget and schedule. Interfaces with client representatives and other contractors.
• Plan, coordinate and supervise on-site functions.
• Supervise craft employees and other contractors as required by the contract.
• Provide technical assistance, interpret drawings, and recommend construction methods and equipment.
• Ensure on-site personnel comply with project procedures and safety program requirements.
