Job summary

Just Construction Recruitment is seeking a Lead Superintendent to direct ground-up commercial construction projects in the Norfolk, VA area. The role targets a proven field leader capable of delivering complex projects from start to finish with strong safety, scheduling, and quality control.

Ideal candidates will have 5+ years in general contracting leadership, a track record of managing large-scale commercial work, and expert knowledge of means and methods, drawings, and specifications.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of superintendent experience in commercial general contracting.
• Ground-up commercial construction experience required.
• Experience managing large-scale commercial projects preferred.
• OSHA knowledge and commitment to jobsite safety.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all daily field operations and site activities
• Manage subcontractors, site logistics, and construction sequencing
• Maintain project schedules, safety standards, and quality control
• Conduct daily site walks to monitor progress, manpower, and field coordination
• Coordinate inspections, punch lists, and closeout activities
• Ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and company standards
• Identify and resolve field conflicts in collaboration with project teams and trade partners
• Lead jobsite safety initiatives and maintain an organized, productive work environment
• Communicate effectively with project managers, owners, architects, and subcontractors
• Drive schedule performance and ensure milestone completion
