Job summary

SubCom in Williamsburg, VA seeks an Engineer in Charge to lead engineering and implementation of deep-sea cable installations and repairs. You will oversee cable engineers, jointers, and transmission engineers across shore end and deep-sea operations, with involvement in vessel loading and post-lay burial.

Travel up to 50% to remote sites and onboard vessels; strong project-management skills, technical specs, and customer interface are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field preferred.
• Understanding of undersea cable mechanics and engineering workflows.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% and work on ships or remote sites.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning for cable loading, installation and repair activities.
• Oversee on-board and shore-side operations and personnel.
• Interface with customers and coordinate with ocean operations teams.
