Job summary

Room 8 Studio in the United States seeks a Project Lead Artist specializing in stylized character creation to drive visual direction and mentor a team of artists. You will lead projects in stylized 3D character direction, ensure quality, create specs, and collaborate across departments to bring characters to life for games.

Experience with ZBrush, Max/Maya, UV/texturing pipelines, and game engines is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Proven Project Lead experience in stylized 3D character teams.
• Portfolio with stylized character work demonstrating direction.
• Ability to review and ensure art quality to standards.
• Mentoring and feedback to resolve artistic/technical issues.
• High-poly sculpting in ZBrush and modeling in Max/Maya.
• Character topology for animation and UV/texturing pipelines.
• Cloth simulation in Marvelous Designer and anatomy knowledge.
• Texture baking (normal, AO) and Substance Painter work.
• Knowledge of modern stylized pipelines and concepts.
• Strong English communication for collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects in stylized 3D character direction.
• Execute quality control of the artists' output.
• Assist and solve artistic/technical team problems.
• Organize team work within projects and tasks.
• Create technical specifications and guides.
• Create high-poly and low-poly stylized character models.
• Create optimal UV mapping and texture baking.
• Work with stylized texturing.
