Job summary

Ford Motor Company in Long Beach, CA is seeking a Supervisor of Theme Feasibility & Surface Development to lead a cross-functional team ensuring Class A surfaces meet design intent and production requirements. You will guide feasibility through concept to tool-able approval, coordinating with design, engineering and manufacturing in a hybrid setting.

The role requires a Mechanical Engineering degree, 5+ years automotive surfacing experience, and strong CAD skills (Catia V5/3DX, TCe) with

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 5+ years automotive surfacing authoring or surface feasibility experience.
• 2+ years CAD with data management experience (Catia V5/3DX, TCe).
• Knowledge of surfacing tools: ISD, ICESURF or Alias.
• Experience in vehicle design, surfacing or feasibility development.

Responsibilities

• Lead creation of Class A surface integrating technical and program requirements.
• Guide feasibility process from concepts to production surfaces and manage trade-offs.
• Deliver feasible, high-quality Class A surfaces on time.
• Lead design feasibility reviews and resolve design/hardpoint issues.
• Publish and close surface feasibility critique sheets.
• Collaborate to align design vision with engineering needs.
• Develop surface proposals to drive team alignment.
• Lead studio property planning, data pedigree, and related content.
