Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with nine (9) years of commercial fixed-wing fuselage structural analysis experience.
• Graduate degree with seven (7) years of commercial fixed-wing fuselage structural analysis experience.
• In lieu of a degree, minimum of thirteen (13) years of commercial fixed-wing fuselage structural analysis experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform classical hand analysis and create FEM models to predict internal loads and stresses.
• Collaborate with design engineers to ensure airworthiness and aircraft modifications.
• Generate free body diagrams and calculate internal loads and stresses.
• Develop structural tests and post-process results to establish strength data.
• Document analyses in formal reports showing compliance with airworthiness requirements.
• Mentor and lead engineers in structural analysis.
• Estimate labor hours for formal bids and manage labor forecasts for a small team of engineers.
• Travel to flight lines and work in aircraft hangars (some positions).
