Job summary

Marcelli Steel in Brookfield, CT is seeking a hands-on Shop Foreman to run daily shop operations, lead a crew of fabricators and welders, and keep production moving on commercial, industrial, and public projects.

You’ll read shop drawings, coordinate materials and equipment, ensure welds meet AWS D1.1 and AISC standards, maintain safety, and report progress to management. This full-time, year-round role offers a competitive salary, performance bonuses, and opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• Experience in structural steel fabrication and welding.
• Foreman, supervisor, or lead fabricator background.
• Ability to read structural shop drawings independently.
• Strong leadership and ownership mindset.
• AWS D1.1 and AISC familiarity is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Run daily shop operations and production schedules.
• Assign work and lead a crew of fabricators and welders.
• Read shop drawings and guide fabrication on the floor.
• Coordinate material, equipment, and job priorities.
• Make sure work meets project specs, AISC requirements, and welding standards.
• Keep the shop safe, organized, and efficient.
• Update management on progress and scheduling.
