Job summary

The Shaw Group seeks an experienced structural steel supervisor to oversee erection activities on site. You will lead crews and subcontractors, ensure work conforms to drawings and codes, and coordinate daily schedules to meet milestones.

The role requires extensive experience with structural steel systems, strong leadership, and effective communication to manage field operations and safety compliance on complex projects.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in structural steel erection with at least 5 years in supervisory roles.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, shop drawings and erection plans.
• Familiarity with OSHA standards and site safety requirements.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and directs structural steel erection crews, subcontractors, and related personnel on job sites.
• Ensures work aligns with drawings, specifications, and codes.
• Coordinates daily activities, schedules, and sequence to meet timelines.
• Monitors productivity and adjusts manpower to maintain efficiency.
• Enforces safety policies and conducts daily safety meetings and inspections.
• Communicates progress and issues with project managers, engineers, inspectors, and clients.
• Reviews blueprints and erection plans; ensures equipment and materials are available.
• Identifies and resolves field issues and site conflicts.
