Job summary

Vital Tech Solutions, based in Detroit, is looking for an experienced Shop Foreman to lead daily fabrication activities in structural steel manufacturing. In this role, you will supervise shop personnel and ensure that projects meet stringent quality and safety standards.

The ideal candidate has a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience and prior supervisory duties. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential to coordinate effectively across teams and manage production schedules.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of structural steel fabrication experience.
• At least 2 years of supervisory, lead, or foreman experience preferred.
• Hands‑on experience with welding, fitting, fabrication equipment, and shop operations.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily fabrication activities including cutting, fitting, welding, and drilling.
• Plan, prioritize, and assign work to meet production schedules.
• Read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and specifications.

Skills

Ability to read and interpret structural steel drawings

Working knowledge of AWS welding codes

Strong leadership skills

Effective verbal communication

Basic computer proficiency

Education
