Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Lead Structural Engineer (Generation) to join the Power & Energy team. The position supports multiple locations including Houston, TX and Seattle, WA, with 5–10% travel to project sites.

You will design foundations and steel systems for solar, storage, and large power projects, coordinating with drafters and clients. The role requires a Civil/Structural Engineering degree, a PE license, and 7+ years of relevant experience, with proficiency in MicroStation, AutoCAD, RISA, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (required).
• PE license and experience with power generation, transmission, and distribution projects.
• Proficiency in structural design software (MicroStation, AutoCAD, RISA, STAAD).
• Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate with clients, contractors, and regulators.

Responsibilities

• Design light foundations and structures for solar farms, storage facilities, and substations.
• Design heavy foundations and structures for large power generation projects.
• Design structural steel systems for buildings, platforms, and equipment supports.
• Coordinate design requirements with drafters/designers.
• Travel to project sites (5–10%) to interface with clients and verify conditions.
