Job summary

TEC Group International is seeking a Civil/Structural Engineer for its Birmingham, Alabama office. The role focuses on analysis and design of new structures, along with upgrades to existing facilities for industrial and commercial projects.

You will lead the structural scope on projects, guide engineers and designers, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality results on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or related field.
• Five or more years of professional structural design experience.
• Experience designing structures for industrial, manufacturing or commercial facilities.
• Strong knowledge of structural steel and reinforced concrete.
• Familiarity with timber design is beneficial.
• Working knowledge of US codes including IBC, ASCE 7, ACI and AISC.

Responsibilities

• Lead the structural scope for small/medium projects with limited supervision.
• Support larger projects through conceptual design and detailed engineering.
• Coordinate engineers and designers to meet quality, budget and schedule.
• Develop design approaches, scopes, budgets and execution plans.
• Design structural systems for industrial and commercial facilities.
• Perform structural analysis using steel, concrete and timber.
