Job summary

Nabors, a leading energy services company, seeks a lead Structural Engineer to drive design of drilling structures and subsystems. You will manage capital projects from planning through execution, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful delivery.

You will provide technical support to Operations, Marketing, and Purchasing, evaluating equipment performance and implementing engineering solutions to enhance reliability and efficiency.

Qualifications

• 9+ years of experience in structural engineering for drilling contexts
• 5+ years with a drilling contractor/drilling services company
• B.S. in civil/structural engineering from an accredited university
• Proficient with drilling and oilfield structures
• Proficient with structural analysis tools: SolidWorks Simulation, StruCAD, SAFI or RISA 3D
• Proficient with AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Access, and Project

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage structural engineering design scopes for New Rig Construction, Refurbishing, Modification/Upgrade, and Maintenance activities
• Perform engineering calculations, drawing review and other engineering functions related to above
• Provide construction management (scheduling and cost control) and engineering support for rig construction activities
• Provide technical support to Operations, Marketing, and Purchasing departments, including on-site troubleshooting
• Maintain current knowledge of new drilling equipment and practices
• Review documents to evaluate feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications
• Manage external engineers and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery of project documents
• Assist in audits of sub-contractors
• Participate in evaluation of new equipment
