Job summary

Barge Design Solutions, Inc. seeks a licensed structural engineer to lead Mission Critical/Data Center projects as Structural Lead and Engineer of Record, guiding technical teams and mentoring junior staff.

You will perform and oversee analysis and design of steel, concrete, masonry, and foundations, review calculations, drawings and reports, and coordinate with architects and contractors. The role requires a civil engineering degree (ABET) with a PE license; SE preferred; 8+ years’ experience

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with a focus on Structures from an ABET accredited university.
• Master’s degree in Structural Engineering strongly preferred.
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) registration; SE registration strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years of engineering experience, 10+ years preferred.
• Experience with Mission Critical/Data Center projects.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Structural Lead and Engineer of Record for projects.
• Perform and oversee structural analysis and design of steel, concrete, masonry, and foundation structures.
• Direct and mentor Junior Engineers and Structural Designers, providing technical guidance and quality control.
• Prepare and review calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical reports for accuracy and constructability.
• Coordinate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated project delivery.
• Provide technical guidance on project scope, budgets, and schedules; conduct site visits and construction observations.
