Job summary

CDM Smith in Florida seeks a technical leader to advance the analysis and design of complex reinforced concrete, structural steel, and masonry structures. You will mentor engineers, influence technical solutions, and help shape proposals while aligning with multidisciplinary teams and clients.

You will review designs for regulatory compliance, coordinate with other disciplines, and contribute to thought leadership and technical publications. Travel may be required as projects demand.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Architectural or Structural Engineering or related discipline.
• Professional engineering (PE) license.
• 10 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Lead the analysis and design of complex reinforced concrete, structural steel, masonry, and specialty structures.
• Direct the development of models, drawings, and specifications.
• Review draft designs for compliance with regulations and sign off on completed designs.
• Coordinate designs with other engineering disciplines.
• Mentor developing engineers and contribute to proposals and thought leadership.
• Contribute to firm’s knowledge base with white papers and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with sales staff to create proposals in response to RFPs and meet with clients to review needs.
• Provide technical guidance and training to junior staff.
