Job summary

Elevate Aircraft Seating in Huntington Beach, CA seeks a Lead Stress Engineer to drive structural certification of aircraft interior components and perform FEA analyses and hand calculations. You will develop test plans to certify structures via static testing and ensure compliance with FAA and customer requirements.

This hybrid role requires 6+ years’ experience, a Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Master’s preferred), and strong technical writing and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or similar technical discipline is required.
  • 6+ years of direct experience in stress engineering or related field.
  • Knowledge of FAA requirements and aerospace industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • Determine structural certification path for aircraft interior installations, structures, and components.
  • Carry out preliminary and detailed stress analysis using FEA and hand calculations.
  • Prepare and check interface loads reports and stress analysis documents.
  • Support static testing and coordinate with test witnesses and lab personnel.
  • Interface with customer stress engineers to align requirements and priorities.
