Lightspeed is seeking a Lead Strategic Financial Analyst to join our North America Finance team, reporting to the Director, Strategic Finance & Insights. You will tackle open-ended questions, build driver-based models, and connect data across Lightspeed’s software, payments, capital and hardware businesses.

The role requires comfort with EST/EDT hours and openness to work across Canada and the United States.

Qualifications

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to bring structure to ambiguous or unowned problems.
• Sound financial modelling skills, including building driver-based models and three-statement analysis from the ground up.
• Experience working with data directly, including SQL or an equivalent querying tool and a BI platform.
• Strong business curiosity and the ability to dig into a number until you understand what is really driving it.
• The ability to challenge assumptions and numbers while building trusted relationships with business partners.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to make complex analysis clear and actionable for both finance and non-finance audiences.
• Experience working in a complex business with multiple revenue streams or business models.

Responsabilités

• Take on complex, open-ended questions spanning multiple parts of the business and bring structure to ambiguity.
• Understand how our different businesses make money and assess growth sustainability.
• Build financial models and analyses from the ground up to inform strategic decisions.
• Access and validate data, including SQL and BI tools when needed.
• Improve forecasting and long-range planning with stronger methodologies.
• Own monthly and quarterly finance rhythm, partnering with business teams on reviews and reporting.
• Challenge assumptions and present clear recommendations to senior leadership.
