Role Summary

Reporting to the Head of Storage, the successful Storage Build Lead candidate will be responsible for ensuring the SLAs for the ECS platform are met (operational tasks, provisioning, and capacity, to name a few). The individual is accountable for the product engineering activities for all Storage Services initiatives including RTB, CTB, and externally funded CTB for all storage technologies.

The Storage ECS Lead interfaces with the xxx and follows standardized solutions to serve the growing demand for flexible and reliable storage platforms. The individual ensures the delivery of all ECS Storage platform requests, CAS, S3, and NFS exports initially, with potential for expansion into Swift, Atmos, and HDFS in time.

This business-critical environment requires a strong focus on attention to detail with alerts being dealt with in a timely manner, strong people skills, leadership, technical skills and business processes, a sense of urgency resolving problem issues, creativity, work schedule flexibility, adaptability to changing business conditions, and a commitment to a positive customer experience.

Role Responsibilities

The Storage ECS support function is primarily responsible for operational support and provisioning of the ECS product. Responsibilities include:

• Matching application requirements to standard infrastructure products and using build capabilities across all technology domains.
• Supporting the global rollout of the new immutable storage cloud platform with low-cost CAS, S3, and NFS object storage.
• Managing ECS storage footprint and capacity, ensuring thresholds of utilization are not breached without relevant escalations.
• General proactive administration to help ensure the integrity, stability, and performance of the ECS storage systems.
• Carrying out ECS storage array capacity and firmware upgrades according to bank standards required for application operation, hardware support, or security enhancement.
• Raising incidents, change tickets, and representing on Incident/Problem/Change Management meetings.
• Assisting with the implementation of in-house and third-party software, both directly and through internal service provision.
• Participating in DR/BCP/Power down drills.
• Working on remote storage environments with virtual storage teams across APAC/US/UK/EMEA, ensuring uniform implementation in each location.

Experience Required

• Experience of working with Dell EMC ECS platform using at the very least the CAS, S3, and NFSv3 protocols.
• Experience and knowledge of enterprise process mapping tools and techniques, as well as of industry good practice frameworks such as ITIL, COBIT, TOGAF, LEAN Six Sigma, etc.
• Experience and exposure to the various Operating Systems.
• Good communication skills and the ability to escalate issues in a timely manner and work within a rota support team.
• Good interpersonal skills and a high standard of personal organization.

General Job Description

• The candidate should be responsible for providing Enterprise SAN Storage related services.
• At least 6 years of relevant experience as storage administrator administering EMC VMAX, VNX, VNXe, Centera, HPE(DXC) 3PAR, Pure storage frames, and CISCO MDS and Brocade SAN Switches.
• Candidate should have a Higher Level Diploma and have already worked for a number of years in an investment banking infrastructure.
• Perform monitoring of SAN and Storage array systems.
• General proactive administration to help ensure the integrity, stability, and performance of the systems.
• Carry out storage array system upgrades according to bank standards required for application operation.
