Job description

Overview

The Lead Steward assists shift supervisors and department directors in the day-to-day functions of the department. They maintain a high level of quality in all aspects of their duties by training, supporting, supervising, and interacting with department team members. The role involves ensuring all schedules are assigned and completed daily, setting a positive example through professional interactions with team members, customers, and families. The Lead Steward performs other duties as assigned by the director, actively participates in outstanding customer service, and maintains respectful relationships with all. They contribute to team efforts, demonstrate professionalism, and ensure good customer interactions.

This role offers an hourly wage of $18.54 - $23.17.

Benefits are per the union agreement.

This position will remain open until June 10, 2025.

Responsibilities
  1. Deliver quality customer service by providing detailed, one-on-one attention.
  2. Provide assignments and assistance to team members.
  3. Demonstrate proper use of personal protective equipment at all times.
  4. Relieve the shift supervisor during their absence.
  5. Adjust or cover schedules as needed during short staffing periods.
  6. Ensure team members meet set standards through quality assurance surveys.
  7. Monitor and report equipment issues or shortages.
  8. Conduct customer and patient surveys.
  9. Assist in inventory management, including restocking supplies.
  10. Dispose of waste according to waste management procedures.
  11. Clean all pots, pans, and maintain kitchens and stewarding areas.
  12. Follow and stay informed about food safety and hygiene regulations.
  13. Clean kitchen equipment and adhere to all HACCP procedures.
  14. Perform other duties as assigned by the director.
  15. Interact appropriately with patients/customers based on age-related competencies.
