Job summary

Augusta Health in Fishersville, VA is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to maintain decontamination and reprocessing of surgical instruments and hospital equipment throughout the hospital. You will inventory, decontaminate, assemble, inspect, package, sterilize, and distribute supplies, while supporting staff education and mentoring new team members.

The role requires at least 2 years in central sterilization and CRCST or CBSPD certification, with on-call duties including weekends.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• CRCST OR CBSPD certification required.
• Minimum 2 years of central sterilization experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain decontamination and reprocessing standards for patient care equipment.
• Inventory, decontaminate, assemble, inspect, package, sterilize, store and distribute instruments.
• Educate department staff and assist in precepting new team members.
• Serve as a department resource and demonstrate leadership.
