Job description

Hourly Pay Range:

$21.08 - $31.62 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

  • Position: Lead Sterile Processing Technician
  • Location: NCH, Arlington Heights & Edward Hospital, Naperville
  • Full Time - Days / Nights / Evenings
  • Rotating weekends and holidays required

What you will do:

Coordinate the daily activities of the Sterile Processing Department, including decontamination, instrument set assembly, medical device processing, patient-care equipment processing, case cart processing, disposal of refuse, and distribution of supplies. Maintain daily Process, Distribution, and Communication Logs, along with production statistics as requested by leadership. Serve as the primary mentor for new technicians and provide ongoing training for all staff. Act as the daily liaison between Sterile Processing and Surgical Services, communicating issues with OR and SPD staff. Contribute to departmental quality improvement programs through leadership, education, and training. Manage processes in the absence of supervisors or managers. Promote effective interpersonal and interdepartmental relationships while maintaining professional conduct.

What you will need:

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Certification: CRCST (Healthcare Sterile Processing Association), CST-ERC (National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting), or CSPDT (Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution) required
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in healthcare sterile processing or surgical/procedural areas
  • Highly preferred: 2 years' experience as a lead or in staff education
