Job summary

Universal Health Services in McAllen, TX, seeks an experienced Sterile Processing Technician to manage the reprocessing cycle for surgical instrumentation and lead a complex area within the SPD. You will operate ultrasonic cleaners, washers and sterilizers, perform quality monitoring, and assist with case cart preparation and supply inventory.

Strong English skills and CRCST certification are required; High School diploma or GED is expected.

Qualifications

• Two years SPD experience as a certified SPD Technician.
• Proficient with instrument-management software (Censis, OneSource).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
• Strong English communication, both spoken and written.
• Able to assemble/disassemble complex instrumentation with manual dexterity.

Responsibilities

• Manage reprocessing cycle for surgical instrumentation.
• Operate ultrasonic cleaners, washers, sterilizers and related equipment.
• Perform quality monitoring and documentation.
• Prepare case carts and assist in supply inventory.
• Mentor and train new Sterile Processing Techs.
• Lead a complex area within SPD and ensure quality and customer service.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
