Job summary

BayCare Health System in Tampa area seeks a Sterile Processing Tech – Lead to coordinate instruments for surgical procedures, support the Operating Room and Cardiovascular Surgery, and oversee decontamination, prep, packaging and sterilization of instruments. Acts as preceptor for the team.

Requirements include high school or equivalent and HSPA CRCST CBSPDT certifications, plus 1 year in a hospital-related sterile processing role with instrument knowledge.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• CRCST, HSPA, and CBSPDT certifications.
• 1 year in hospital sterile processing or related field.
• Knowledge of decontamination, preparation, packaging and sterilization per maker guidance.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate surgical instruments for specified procedures.
• Respond to requests from Operating Room and Cardiovascular Surgery.
• Maintain instrument repair function and decontamination processes.
• Prep, package and sterilize instrumentation for the department.
• Serve as preceptor and resource for department team members.
