Job summary

WellStar Health System seeks a Lead Sterile Processing Technician to coordinate surgical instrument processing and workflow in the central supply area. You will prepare packs, maintain readiness, and work with OR staff to ensure on-time cases.

The role requires aseptic technique expertise, 2+ years in sterile processing, and strong communication. Evening shift (3PM–11PM) with Monday–Friday schedule.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED; Associate degree preferred
• CRCST or CSPDT certification required at hire
• Minimum 2 years sterile processing experience
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong organization and prioritization; English fluency

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates aseptic/sterile technique for instruments and supplies
• Collects, disinfects, and stores instruments per hospital policy
• Inspects/maintains instruments and equipment for 24-hour readiness
• Maintains sterilization records and quality control logs
• Coordinates instrument turnaround with the Manager and OR team
• Acts as liaison between SPTs and operating room staff
