Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to decontaminate, sterilize, assemble and process surgical instruments in accordance with prescribed procedures. The role includes packaging and rotation through processing phases, with a focus on safety and aseptic technique.

You will operate steam and Sterrad sterilizers, maintain infection control practices, and participate in ongoing inservice training.

Qualifications

• CSPDT or CRCST certification required within 1.5 years.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to function in a changing and high-pressure environment.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminates instruments safely.
• Prepares trays of surgical instruments and packs.
• Operates steam and Sterrad sterilizers per procedures and manufacturing instructions.
• Gives verbal report to the oncoming shift and completes shift reports.
• Demonstrates aseptic technique and infection control practices.
• Attends inservice and educational programs as required.
