Job summary

Life Cycle Engineering seeks a Lead Steam Generating Plant Inspector to head the Amphibious Steam visit team, providing expert oversight of steam propulsion and generator systems on naval ships. The role requires extensive EOOW and inspector experience, and coordination with gas turbine teams for hybrid propulsion visits.

The incumbent will manage pre-visit intelligence, training, and post-trip deliverables while ensuring compliance with Navy procedures and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years of supervisory experience in analyses, information system operations, and technical project implementation.
• Minimum 15 years of supervisory-level watchstanding on warships or military auxiliaries as EOOW or equivalent.
• Extensive Navy technical management experience on multiple ships.
• Extensive experience as EOOW on multiple steam ships.
• Minimum two tours as a Navy Steam Generating Propulsion Inspector.
• Experienced with steam turbine main propulsion, generators, controls, and auxiliaries.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Amphibious Steam (LHD/LHA) visit team through all phases of RATT visit execution.
• Serve as the senior SME for steam turbine propulsion, steam generators, and associated systems.
• Coordinate with other SME teams for LHA-6 hybrid propulsion visits per concurrency rules.
• Prepare the Pre-Visit Intelligence Package and contact ship leadership.
• Conduct and supervise deckplate training and Level 2/3 assessments.
• Review and approve AWRs for Category I and II material discrepancies.
