Job summary

Merck & Co., Inc. in Rahway, NJ, USA seeks a Senior Statistician for BARDS within the Clinical Safety Statistics group to lead safety analyses in oncology and to collaborate with cross-functional teams on safety assessments across the product life cycle.

The role requires a PhD or equivalent in statistics/biostatistics with extensive experience, strong methods knowledge (survival, meta-analysis, Bayesian), and proficiency in SAS or R. Hybrid work is supported; travel about 10%.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent in statistics/biostatistics with 6+ years of relevant experience, or a master's with 9+ years.
• Strong knowledge of survival analysis, meta-analysis, Bayesian methods, and confounding control.
• Experience in clinical trial design and safety data analysis; proficiency in SAS or R.

Responsibilities

• Provide statistical leadership for compound safety evaluation strategies and analyses in the Oncology Therapeutic Area.
• Collaborate with RMST, Early/Late Development Statistics, Epidemiology, Programming and other RMST functions.
• Ensure safety deliverables meet analysis requirements, SOPs and regulatory guidance.
• Communicate results to cross-functional teams, management, regulators, and investigators.
• Develop processes and tools for safety evaluation addressing scientific and business needs.
