Job summary
Rehabilitation & Correction - Chillicothe Correctional Institution is seeking a Stationary Engineer 2 to oversee powerhouse operations, including boilers, turbines and related equipment. The role requires a Stationary Steam Engineer License and at least 6 months of licensed experience, with duties spanning inspection, maintenance, and ensuring inmate security.
Salary ranges from $54,000 to $72,000 annually, with full-time status and union representation (OCSEA).
Qualifications
- Stationary Steam Engineer License per 4104.19 Revised Code and 6 months' experience as licensed stationary engineer.
Responsibilities
- Lead workers and inmates in installation, repair, maintenance and operation of powerhouse equipment (boilers, furnaces, stokers, pumps, turbines).
- Make rounds of powerhouse, read gauges, adjust equipment, observe operation.
- Start/stop equipment and log fuel, power and readings; maintain timesheets and records.
- Maintain security of inmates and inventory of parts and supplies.
- Performs annual boiler inspection and general maintenance.
- Attend trainings, meetings, and perform related duties as assigned.
