Job summary

Holistic Partners, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated technical lead with strong analytical skills and insurance domain knowledge.

The role requires guiding developers, QA, and business analysts to deliver quality solutions for P&C systems, including policy administration, claims, billing, rating, and underwriting. The ideal candidate has extensive SQL experience, hands-on ETL, and familiarity with legacy and modern Policy Admin platforms.

Qualifications

  • Familiarity with legacy and modern Policy Admin platforms.
  • Strong MGA operations and premium accounting knowledge.
  • Experience in premium accounting workflows: invoicing, collections, bordereaux, reconciliation, reporting.
  • MGA or Specialty Insurance experience preferred.
  • Hands-on SQL experience (8+ years).
  • ETL, SSIS, and workflow automation experience.
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, Service Now, ITIL processes.
  • Knowledge of cloud, SOA, microservices, APIs, and managed databases.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as technical lead to design, develop, and implement solutions.
  • Single point of contact for development and production incidents.
  • Maintain and improve existing software functionality.
  • Manage and support SQL database environment.
  • Support core P&C systems including Policy Administration, Claims, Billing, Rating, and Underwriting.
  • Analyze business and system impacts of defects across lines.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand insurance workflows and regulations.
  • Validate defects and enhancements through testing.
  • Review and support application changes, releases and patches.
  • Assist deployments and post-release validation.
  • Ensure regulatory, audit, and data security compliance.
  • Update documentation and runbooks; perform data analysis on issues.
  • Analyze logs, batch jobs, APIs, and third-party integrations.
  • Identify performance bottlenecks and assist tuning.
  • Support batch processing, renewals, and large-volume transactions.
  • Guide users and provide training; mentor team members.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and tech advancements.

Job description

In this role, we are seeking a highly motivated individual who possesses strong technical and analytical skills, with an understanding of the wholesale brokerage insurance industry preferred. The individual will be technical lead and is expected to work with business to understand requirements and support application, work with Developers, Business Analyst and QE team to ensure quality solution delivery. Effective collaboration with the business users and various stakeholders is required. Serves as mentor, advisor and guide to the team of developers.

Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a technical lead to design, develop, and implement solution.
  • Single point of contact for development for existing stack of applications and supporting production incidents.
  • Maintain and improve the functionality of existing software applications.
  • Manage and support SQL database environment.
  • Support core P&C systems including Policy Administration, Claims, Billing, Rating, and Underwriting platforms.
  • Analyze business and system impacts of defects across personal, commercial, and specialty lines.
  • Work closely with business stakeholders to understand insurance workflows, rules, and regulatory constraints.
  • Validate defect fixes and enhancements through functional and technical testing.
  • Review and support application changes, releases, and patches.
  • Assist development teams with production deployments and post-release validation.
  • Ensure system changes comply with regulatory, audit, and data security requirements.
  • Update support documentation, runbooks, and knowledge articles.
  • Perform advanced SQL queries and data analysis to investigate data integrity and transactional issues.
  • Analyze logs, batch jobs, APIs, and integrations with third-party systems (e.g., vendors, reinsurers).
  • Identify performance bottlenecks and support tuning efforts.
  • Support batch processing, nightly cycles, renewals, and large-volume transactions.
  • Guide system users and assist with training.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to the team members.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technology advancements.
  • Work closely with business leads and product owners to understand requirements.
  • Guide development & support teams. Mentor team members. Technical/ functional guidance on the application.
  • Work on configuration changes.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Familiarity with a variety of both legacy and modern Policy Admin platforms.
  • Strong understanding of MGA operations and premium accounting processes.
  • Strong domain knowledge of insurance operations, specifically within MGA and premium accounting.
  • Work extensively on premium accounting workflows, including invoicing, collections, bordereaux processing, reconciliation, and reporting.
  • P&C experience (preferably in Specialty Insurance).
  • Hands on SQL – 8+ years.
  • Understanding of insurance data structures, financial reconciliation, and reporting processes.
  • Experience in ETL and SSIS packages and workflow/automation creation.
  • Experience with Documaker, Rackley, Infomaker, PowerBuilder, Retool, GoAnywhere, Redgate Tools, Git.
  • Solid experience working in Agile environment. Both Scrum and Kanban.
  • Hands on experience with Jira, Confluence, Service Now, ITIL tools and process framework.
  • Solid understanding of Web applications, cloud managed services, service-oriented architecture (SOA) solutions, microservices, containers, API development and managed databases.
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications / Skills:
  • Nice to have Cloud experience, Azure Cloud, GCP.
  • Knowledge of ConceptOne, AIM and Image Right will be preferred.
