Job summary

Brown University Athletics and Recreation is seeking an Associate Director of Athletics, Sports Performance in Providence, RI. The role provides strategic leadership for the Sports Performance program, integrating with Sports Medicine, Psychology, Nutrition, and other student-athlete health resources to support varsity teams.

The position oversees Sports Performance Coaches, sets professional standards, and may coach teams as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible experience in collegiate or professional Sports Performance, strength and conditioning, or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated experience leading or managing a multi-sport Sports Performance operation or comparable complex performance environment.
• Demonstrated knowledge of sport-specific performance programming, athlete monitoring, performance assessment, recovery, workload management, and integrated student-athlete development.
• Demonstrated experience supervising, developing, and evaluating professional staff.
• Demonstrated experience managing an operating budget and allocating resources in support of programmatic priorities.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic, operational, and professional leadership for the Sports Performance program.
• Establish and execute a comprehensive vision and strategy for Sports Performance ecosystem.
• Oversee the full roster of Sports Performance Coaches and set professional standards.
• Serve as Sports Performance Coach for varsity sports as needed.
• Manage operating budget and resources for the program.
