Job summary

The Wellington Hospital in London is seeking a Senior Scrub Theatre Practitioner specialising in spinal and neurology. You will join a large private hospital, delivering high-quality perioperative care for complex spinal procedures, and you’ll lead lists while collaborating with surgeons, anaesthetists and multidisciplinary teams.

You should have an NMC/HCPC registration and recent experience in spinal/neurosurgical theatres.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner qualification with a valid NMC or HCPC registration.
• Current experience as a Senior Scrub Theatre Practitioner in spinal and neurosurgical theatres.
• Experience with complex spinal and neuro procedures (ALIF, TLIF, XLIF, intradural lesion surgery, craniotomies).
• Ability to set up theatres, manage lists and work autonomously in a specialist environment.
• Strong communication and collaborative teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high quality perioperative care for patients undergoing complex spinal and neurological procedures.
• Safely prepare and manage theatre environments with equipment and sterile fields.
• Lead and coordinate theatre lists to ensure smooth operating sessions.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anaesthetists and teams to optimise patient outcomes.
• Support a culture of safety, professionalism and learning across the theatre team.
