Job summary

Rocket Lab is seeking a Senior Spacecraft Propulsion Systems Engineer II for the Space Systems division in Long Beach, CA. You will own propulsion system development, perform modelling and analysis, and lead cross-functional teams through end-to-end design, testing, and qualification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (aerospace, mechanical, mechatronics, or other technical discipline)
• 8+ years of propulsion system development experience
• US citizenship required for ITAR/compliance
• Expertise in propulsion system modelling, validation, and analysis

Responsibilities

• Own development of propulsion system products or subsystems.
• Perform performance calculations, modeling, and design.
• Gather and manage system requirements.
• Lead engineering activities and mentor teammates.
• Plan tests, instrumentation, and data analysis.
• Communicate status to stakeholders.
• Make risk-based technical decisions.
