Job summary

RTX is seeking a Spacecraft Concept & Mission Engineer to support Advanced Technology, focusing on satellite technology, mission CONOPs, and new business captures for national security space customers. The role involves developing analysis tools and collaborating across disciplines while advancing research and potential IP.

The position is onsite in Tucson, AZ, requiring a Top Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship.

Qualifications

• STEM degree and minimum 10 years of relevant experience.
• Depth in at least one system-level or subsystem-level domain.
• Experience using Python, MATLAB, and/or C++ to model physical systems.

Responsibilities

• Join a team of engineers and analysts to realize team objectives: include vehicle design, system sizing, mission performance analysis, and trajectory optimization.
• Analyze notional missions and hardware for feasibility and collaborate with engineers across disciplines to improve models.
• Develop mission analysis and planning toolsets for a portfolio of systems.
• Use grid computing to generate and analyze large datasets.
• Produce visualizations of complex systems and mission CONOPs in STK or similar tools.
• Coordinate with product line management and customers; engage with leadership to mature technologies for new business and capture.
