Job summary

Voyager Technologies in Houston, TX is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to design, test, integrate, and operate spaceflight avionics and electrical hardware, while providing technical leadership to other electrical engineers. The role reports to the Senior Director of Engineering and is based in Houston, TX.

The candidate will lead design and development of space-qualified electronics, author documentation, conduct testing, review payload designs, and support proposals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in electrical design and development for space systems.
• Proven track record in designing, testing, and integrating electrical systems for space applications.
• Experience with PCB design including schematic/layout and fabrication files.
• Proficiency with test equipment and associated measurement tools.
• Experience leading technical reviews and mentoring junior engineers.
• Ability to support proposals and contribute to cost and schedule estimates.

Responsibilities

• Design & develop space-qualified electronics, including power systems and flight computers.
• Author and maintain technical documentation and test procedures.
• Conduct electrical testing and oversee qualification and acceptance testing.
• Review payload designs for compatibility with NASA requirements.
• Support proposals and deliver status updates to engineering teams.
• Maintain traceability for components, tools, and equipment throughout development lifecycle.
