Job summary

Voyager Technologies in Pittsburgh, PA seeks an experienced Lead Electrical Hardware Engineer - Avionics to lead the avionics team across flight hardware design, testing, and integration for lunar systems.

You will mentor engineers, drive design reviews, establish internal processes, and support the roadmap with rapid troubleshooting and test execution under MIL-STD and NASA-STD guidelines. Hybrid role in Pittsburgh.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications include 6+ years in electronics hardware development and B.S. in Electrical or Computer Engineering or equivalent.
• Schematic and board design proficiency using Altium, Eagle, OrCAD or similar.
• Ability to mentor and lead small teams of engineers to design complex products.
• Experience in component/LRU electrical design and hardware development.
• Preferred: spacecraft electronics systems experience and high-speed PCB design.
• Knowledge of NASA-STD 4001/4003; MIL-STD 461; VPX/SpaceVPX standards; FPGA/microcontroller programming.

Responsibilities

• Leading the development of flight hardware avionics, including computing, signal conditioning, control electronics, filtering, data acquisition, and command & data handling (C&DH).
• Lead daily operations, scheduling, and tasking for the avionics team.
• Providing technical and programmatic guidance to internal avionics team members and partners.
• Establish review process for avionics engineering products prior to release and manufacturing.
• Provide subject matter expertise in subsystem and vehicle phase-gate, milestone design reviews as independent reviewer.
• Define internal work processes and standards for hardware design, circuit analysis, test execution, and result documentation.
• Drive rapid troubleshooting, failure investigation, and resolution of electrical anomalies during testing and assembly.
• Contribute to avionics product roadmap and R&D prioritization.
