Job summary

Mountain Creek is seeking a Sous Chef to manage the kitchen team and direct meal preparation in a specific outlet at the Vernon, NJ location. Salary ranges from $22.00 to $24.00 per hour, with coverage for nights and weekends.

The Sous Chef will provide culinary instruction, training, and coaching, uphold safety and waste controls, and assist the Executive Chef in daily operations to deliver an extraordinary dining experience for guests.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years experience as a Sous Chef or 3-5 years as a strong line cook.
• Experience executing high-quality menus and/or banquets.
• Strong training, coaching, and mentoring skills.
• Nights and weekends required.

Responsibilities

• Ensures quality, consistency and presentation of all food served in resort facilities.
• Manages portion control and minimizes waste while maintaining high prep standards.
• Participates in new recipes, menus and program development.
• Maintains safe, organized work area for kitchen staff and collaborates with team.
• Supports daily operations and coordinates with Executive Chef.
• Oversees kitchen production and prep to ensure an exceptional dining experience.
