Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking a Commodity Sourcing Leader on our mechanical equipment team to help shape how we source critical components for power projects worldwide. This role blends strategy with execution, negotiating contracts in the morning and partnering with engineering teams in the afternoon.

You’ll influence cost, quality and delivery across GE Vernova's Gas Power business while supporting a global sourcing function that drives cleaner energy. Hybrid work with travel up to 20% is available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in sourcing, operations, or supply chain.
• Minimum 3 years of commercial experience in sourcing, sales, operations, engineering, and/or supply chain.
• Experience with end-to-end contract lifecycle and supplier management is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute sourcing strategy for mechanical commodity with global leader alignment.
• Lead end-to-end supplier management from RFP to supplier exit.
• Negotiate contracts and drive cost reduction with cross-functional teams.

Job Description

What You'll Do

• Develop and execute sourcing strategy for your assigned mechanical commodity in partnership with the global commodity leader, with a focus on variable cost productivity, cash flow, and financial controllership goals.
• Lead end-to-end supplier management, including selection, qualification, development, and the full contract lifecycle from Request for Proposal (RFP) to supplier exit.
• Negotiate contracts and drive cost reduction by identifying savings opportunities, executing commercial negotiations, and implementing sustainable cost controls — collaborating with Finance to validate impact on the general ledger.
• Build technical and market expertise in your commodity area, staying current on global supply market trends, regional capacity dynamics, and supplier capabilities.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, Supplier Quality Engineers (SQEs), fulfillment, logistics, and project teams to ensure suppliers are selected on time and equipment meets project requirements.
• Optimize procurement processes and align with global sourcing initiatives to improve the overall experience for internal customers and drive continuous improvement.

Who We're Looking For

You're a commercially minded sourcing professional who is equally comfortable building long-term supplier strategies and rolling up your sleeves to get a deal across the finish line. You bring market knowledge, strong negotiation skills, and a collaborative instinct that makes cross-functional teams better.

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field — or equivalent professional experience in a sourcing, operations, or supply chain role
• Minimum 3yrs of commercial experience in sourcing, sales, operations, engineering, and/or supply chain

Preferred

• Prior sourcing experience in the energy, power generation, or industrial manufacturing sector
• Strong data analysis capabilities with the ability to translate insights into sourcing decisions
• Strong project management skills with a track record of delivering results in a matrixed environment
• Strong experience working with logistics and commercial teams to manage regional capacity and localization requirements
• Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP preferred)
• Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus in support of global supplier engagement

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $94,600.00 and $157,700.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
