Job summary

Bridgestone Americas, Inc. in Nashville, TN, is seeking an experienced procurement professional to lead sourcing, supplier selection, and contract administration for indirect and direct operations.

You will manage supplier relationships, negotiate terms, and drive continuous improvements, ensuring cost, quality, and supply resilience. This role requires a strong track record in strategic sourcing and the ability to lead complex projects with internal partners.

Qualifications

• Typically requires 8+ years of related experience with a bachelor's degree; or 6 years and a master's; or a PhD with 3 years of experience; or equivalent work experience.
• Experience in procurement and supplier relationship management.
• Ability to lead large projects and negotiate contracts with internal/external stakeholders.

Position Summary

Responsible for procurement (e.g., purchasing and supply chain activities), as well as vendor management (e.g., negotiation, purchase, and relationships associated with outsourced services).

Responsibilities

• Accountable for obtaining goods / services required by the organization including Indirect Operations (e.g., Office Supplies, contingent workforce, HR services, insurance, etc) Computers, Travel, Maintenance, Machine Parts,.) and Direct Operations (e.g., Raw Materials and Services for Manufacturing, Production or Construction; Products for Retail, etc.)

• Manages or performs strategic sourcing work to manage risk and optimize the value/resilience of materials/services sourcing including:
• Establishing Supplier Relationship Management processes and continuous improvement goals/programs, with a particular focus on managing the TAPFIN contingent labour project and optimizing its implementation.
• Negotiating contracts and coordinating supplier integration plans with internal clients.
• Monitors market dynamics that impact materials/services availability and/or pricing.
• Partners with internal clients to identify sourcing needs, develop buyer/market profiles, identify marketplace trends, and define acceptable service levels.
• Leads large projects or processes of complex scope, with limited oversight from manager.
• Coaches, reviews and delegates work to lower level professionals.
• Assists in the development of operational plan and implements for areas of assigned responsibilities.
• Identifies continuous improvement/automation activities and makes frequent recommendations based on detailed analyses and applying results to drive improvements.
• Adapts precedent and may holistically change standard operating procedures to develop new solutions.
• Supports relationships through strong communication and negotiation skills with internal and external stakeholders.
• Other duties as assigned.
