Job description

A Lead Solution Architect (LSA) plays a crucial role from implementation to go-live for our Microsoft Dynamics 365 projects. The LSA collaborates with D365 Enterprise prospects and clients to review requirements, business processes, and existing solutions. They recommend specific business process changes and appropriate technology solutions, including integrations and ISV solutions, for successful project deployment. Additionally, the LSA assists with estimating timelines, budgets, and associated costs during the presales process.

During implementations, the LSA serves in an active advisory role to lead the functional team on solution design, ensuring best practices for D365 F&SCM configuration and development. LSA work spans across all workstreams to ensure the entire solution meets project scope and requirements. Typically, the LSA supports two or more projects at one given time. In this role you will be expected to facilitate discussions, establish group consensus, communicate at a senior level, and represent Columbus as team leader and business expert. The LSA is a trusted advisor to clients and interacts with users at all levels, including C-level executives.

Responsibilities of the Lead Solution Architect include:

  • Lead client meetings for discovery, planning, and envisioning of solutions.
  • Convey solution vision to Columbus consultants with clear and effective communication skills- both verbally and in written format.
  • Serve as liaison and partner to PM on project work breakdown and scheduling.
  • Reviewing configuration and design changes to ensure consistency and reduce conflicts.
  • Producing clear and concise documentation including workflows, specifications or presentations to support projects as needed.
  • Developing reusable artifacts to improve overall implementation process.
  • Actively working with Technical and Developmental Leads on solution designs.
  • Understanding basic features of common ISVs.
  • Work with Pre-sales on demonstrations, scoping, and estimation of projects.
  • Stay curious and lead adoption of the latest D365 F&O features and enhancements including Microsoft Co-Pilot, AI and D365 Agentification

Minimum Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience in a functional lead role, including previous implementation experience with AX/D365 F&SCM.
  • Completion of multiple full life cycle implementations (minimum of 7) with Microsoft Dynamics AX and D365 across industries in a functional role as a consultant with external customers.
  • 8+ years of client-facing experience in ERP consulting.
  • Degree in Business or Information Technology or equivalent experience.
  • Prior experience managing or leading a group or mentoring individuals.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills to professionally represent Columbus.
  • Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with both client and internal teams, demonstrating strong leadership and emotional intelligence.
  • Proficiency in using current tool sets, including Teams, MS Office apps, SharePoint, and DevOps.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours periodically to coordinate with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%.

Preferred Qualifications (Certifications):

  • Microsoft Certification in MB-300 Core F&O, MB-310 Finance, MB-320 SCM, Manufacturing MB-330 Supply Chain Management.
  • MB-700 F&O Apps Solution Architect.
