Lead Solar Maintenance Technician, Residential Service

Overview

The Service Installer is a vital part of Tesla’s Field Energy Operations team, contributing to Tesla’s mission to accelerate the world's transition to sustainable energy. This role involves working with the latest solar technology, building team relationships, and ensuring safe, timely installation of our products. Candidates should have a passion for learning energy systems and be prepared to work outdoors in extreme conditions, at heights, and perform physically demanding tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for long periods.

Responsibilities

1. Support the Crew Lead and Electrician in servicing and maintaining Tesla’s solar products.
2. Attend weekly team meetings and mandatory training on new products, service practices, and standards.
3. Follow building standards and codes during installation and service tasks.
4. Assist with routine maintenance of energy systems.
5. Manage time and tasks efficiently with a sense of urgency.
6. Provide excellent customer service to all clients.

Qualifications

• Experience in roofing, construction, or carpentry is preferred.
• Ability to safely operate power and hand tools, and handle materials like ladders, inverters, solar panels, batteries, and electrical equipment.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attendance record.
• Willingness to travel up to 2 weeks at a time across various U.S. locations.
• Ability to work at heights, in extreme environments, and lift at least 50 pounds.
• Valid driver’s license required.
