Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a PPL Lab Technician for the Soil Testing Laboratory. The role focuses on preparation, extraction/digestion, and analysis of soil samples (approx.

8000/year) and operation of ICP-OES equipment, with data managed in LIMS. The position requires a scientific degree or equivalent lab experience, and includes responsibilities as a group leader and trainer, with a focus on maintaining operation and safety in a busy university lab setting on-site

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline or two years college science + two years lab experience
• Equivalent combination of college-level science coursework may substitute for the degree
• Valid driver’s license required and Rutgers Defensive Driving Course completion

Responsabilités

• Oversees logging and initial handling of samples, data entry to LIMS
• Leads and trains lab technicians, assistants, and students
• Maintains proficiency in laboratory analytical operations
• Supports NJAES outreach with professional contact with the public
• Provides professional-level lab support using scientific methods
