SpaceX is seeking a Lead Software Engineer for the Starship Manufacturing team (Application Software). You will own and drive a roadmap for mission-critical applications used to accelerate launch vehicle production and Starlink growth, while mentoring engineers and delivering high-quality software systems.

The role emphasizes leadership, strong collaboration across groups, and the ability to work extended hours with a willingness to travel as needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, math, or science discipline; 3+ years software development or 6+ years without a degree.
1+ years of experience with object-oriented programming.
1+ years of experience leading software teams or projects.

Responsibilities

Directly manage a team of software engineers.
Own all aspects, including prioritization, implementation, and delivery, of a system roadmap.
Provide strong technical leadership with a focus on continuous improvement.
Manage and track multiple priorities while maintaining a focus towards common project goals.
Develop highly reliable and available software systems.
