Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Lead Software Engineer for Application Software in manufacturing. You will lead a team of engineers and drive end-to-end development of mission-critical software for production and Starlink platforms.

You will shape architectures, mentor juniors, and deliver reliable systems powering high-throughput factories and global satellite services. The role emphasizes ownership, collaboration across groups, and strong communication to align with SpaceX's ambitious space exploration

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/engineering/math/science or equivalent
• 3+ years of software development experience; or 6+ years of experience in lieu of degree
• 1+ years of object-oriented programming experience
• 1+ years of leading software teams or projects

Responsibilities

• Directly manage a team of software engineers
• Own all aspects, including prioritization, implementation, and delivery, of a system roadmap
• Provide strong technical leadership with a focus on continuous improvement
• Manage and track multiple priorities while maintaining a focus towards common project goals
• Develop highly reliable and available software systems
• Maintain highest standards of excellence, never settle for the status quo
• Collaborate with other leaders to ensure success for SpaceX
