Job summary

State Farm is seeking a Lead Software Engineer for the PCAF Test Enablement Innovation Team. You will deliver software solutions to improve testing, processes, and services in a fast-paced environment, with emphasis on end-to-end execution including GenAI and cloud engineering.

You’ll lead small development teams, collaborate across departments, and influence test strategy, workflows, and delivery practices.

Qualifications

We’re seeking an amazing Lead Software Engineerto join the PCAF Test Enablement Innovation Team. You’ll work in a fast-paced, creative environment to deliver software solutions that help business partners improve testing, business processes, and services.

This role emphasizes end-to-end execution—from solution design and development to deployment—and a mindset focused on innovation, including agentic AI, GenAI, and cloud/platform engineering.

You’ll have opportunities to lead small development teams, collaborate with engineers across the department, and influence improvements to test strategy, operational workflows, and software delivery practices.

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable software applications using python pyspark, Angular, and Go.
• Apply AI tools and techniques, including GenAI development, Agents, and LLM-based models, to build intelligent solutions that enhance test and product capabilities.
• Collaborate with Modernization teams to develop innovative solutions to accelerate software development life cycle delivery.
• Build and optimize AI and Cloud workflows (including pipelines, orchestration, and integrations).
• Stay current with emerging AI technologies and best practices to continuously improve our AI capabilities.

Qualifications

Desired Experience

• Python pyspark, Terraform, APIs, JSON, Angular, React
• AWS (Lambda, EC2, SQS, S3, Cloudfront, API gateway, SNS, Route53)
• Experience in cloud architecture and development
• Focused on integrating DevSecOps practices in their work
• Proficiency in TypeScript and Angular for frontend development.
• Experience with Go for backend is a plus.
• Applied experience using AI tools and frameworks, specifically:
• Generative AI development (GenAI)
• Agent-based AI solutions
• Large Language Model (LLM) integration and deployment

• Potential starting salary range: $107,000 - $135,000
  • Starting salary will be based on skills, background, and experience
  • High end of the range limited to applicants with significant relevant experience
• Potential yearly incentive pay up to 10% of base salary
