Lead Software Engineer - Data Scientist

Description

Job Location: Frisco, Bellevue, Atlanta

The Data Scientist supports Machine Learning projects from strategy through implementation and ongoing improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Perform data collection, analysis, validation, cleansing, and develop software to support multiple machine learning workflows, including integration and deployment of code in large-scale production environments and reporting.
2. Design, code, test, debug, and document ML code — models, ETL processes, SQL queries, and stored procedures.
3. Extract and analyze data from various structured and unstructured sources, such as databases, files, data lakes, and external APIs/websites.
4. Respond to data inquiries from various groups within the organization.
5. Require experience with relational databases, NoSQL databases, query tools, and statistical software.
6. Handle other duties/projects as assigned by management.

Required Skills:

1. 12+ years of experience in statistical modeling, data mining, analytics techniques, machine learning software development, and reporting.
2. 8+ years of applied experience in building/deploying ML solutions using supervised/unsupervised algorithms like Linear/Logistic Regression, Support Vector Machines, Neural Networks, Random Forest, etc., with understanding of key performance parameters.
3. 5+ years of hands-on experience with Python and/or R, including packages and ML libraries such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch.
4. 3+ years of experience developing AI/use cases on cloud platforms like Azure, GCP, AWS, and on-premise environments (Splunk, Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Docker, etc.).
5. Experience designing experimental and analytic plans for data modeling, using strong baselines, and analyzing cause-and-effect relations.
6. Understanding of statistical measures such as confidence intervals, significance testing, and data set development.
7. Expertise in scaling ML solutions to large-scale production environments using tools like Databricks.
8. Proficiency with visualization tools such as PowerBI, D3.js, etc.
