Job summary

Charles River Laboratories is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for the Microbial Solutions site in Charleston, SC. This on-site role (Mon-Fri) involves technical leadership and hands-on development of software interfacing with laboratory devices and subsystems.

You will work with System Integration and Software Development teams to improve features, architecture, scalability, and performance across platforms using .NET, C#, React, and PostgreSQL.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent engineering skillset with software engineering experience.
• Minimum 5 years of programming experience including .NET/ASP.NET, C#, Python and Git.
• Experience in a regulated software development environment is desirable.
• Experience with cloud programming (Azure/AWS) is desirable; CI/CD familiarity with Azure DevOps is optional.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software controlling laboratory devices.
• Participate in design, code, and test reviews across projects.
• Engage in all development phases from requirements to deployment and testing.
• Prepare documentation per internal processes and regulatory requirements (FDA/ISO).
