Job summary

JPMorganChase in Jersey City seeks a Lead Software Engineer to join the Exchange Traded Funds team within Asset and Wealth Management. You will be a core technical contributor shaping scalable, secure technology products across multiple domains.

You will design and implement production-grade Java applications using SpringBoot, AWS, and modern CI/CD practices, mentor engineers, and collaborate with vendors and internal partners to evolve architecture.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
• Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Advanced in one or more programming languages, specifically Java based technologies to include Java, SpringBoot, AWS, and SQL.
• Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods.
• Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle.
• Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
• Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, AI, ML, mobile).
• In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems.
• Practical cloud native experience.

Responsibilities

• Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and troubleshooting with the ability to think beyond routine approaches.
• Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others.
• Identifies opportunities to automate remediation of recurring issues to improve stability.
• Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors and internal teams to probe architecture and applicability.
• Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive adoption of new technologies.
