Job summary

U.S. Bank is seeking a seasoned software engineer to contribute across the full software lifecycle. You will design, develop, test, operate and maintain complex products, taking full stack ownership to deliver scalable, secure, and reliable systems.

You will participate in code reviews and ensure compliance and security best practices throughout development. Experience with Node, NPM, React, Java/Spring Boot, and cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS is highly preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Six to eight years of relevant software development experience.
  • Hands-on development with Node, NPM and React frontend stack.
  • Proven ability to implement user interfaces against REST APIs.
  • Hands-on experience in Microservices/API development using Java/Spring Boot.

  • Takes full stack ownership by consistently writing production-ready and testable code.
  • Designs with scalability, reliability and performance in mind when defining technical designs.

Job Description

This position will be responsible for the analysis, design, testing, development and maintenance of best in class software experiences. The candidate is a self-motivated individual who can collaborate with a team and across the organization. The candidate takes responsibility of the software artifacts produced adhering to U.S. Bank standards in order to ensure minimal impact to the customer experience. The candidate will be adept with the agile software development lifecycle and DevOps principles.

Responsible for designing, developing, testing, operating and maintaining products

Takes full stack ownership by consistently writing production-ready and testable code

Consistently creates optimal design adhering to architectural best practices; considers scalability, reliability and performance of systems/contexts affected when defining technical designs

Performs analysis on failures, propose design changes, and encourage operational improvements

Makes sound design/coding decisions keeping customer experience in the forefront

Takes feedback from code review and apply changes to meet standards

Conducts code reviews to provide guidance on engineering best practices and compliance with development procedures

Accountable for ensuring all aspects of product development follow compliance and security best practices

Exhibits relentless focus in software reliability engineering standards embedded into development standards

Embraces emerging technology opportunities and contributes to the best practices in support of the bank’s technology transformation

Contributes to a culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement

Reviews tasks critically and ensures they are appropriately prioritized and sized for incremental delivery; anticipates and communicates blockers and delays before they require escalation

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience
Six to eight years of relevant experience
Preferred Skills/Experience

Hands on working experience developing highly maintainable, extensible, and testable distributed systems

Hands on development experience with Node, NPM and React framework, producing hygiene and secure front-end code.

Proven ability to implement user interfaces against REST APIs
Hands-on experience in Microservices/API development using Java/Spring boot

Experience in developing Cloud native applications in Azure or AWS is preferred.

Experience on designing low latency applications designed for scalability and reliability with high throughput.

Experience with open-source technologies like Java, Spring boot, Kafka, etc. and containerization.

Experience using modern and functional programming styles
Familiarity with source control management best practices

Good to have AI experience.

Ability to analyze the bigger picture, identifying and prioritizing with the aim to consider more than one domain within an analysis

Preferred skill securing app and containers using certificates

This role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $133,365.00 - $156,900.00
