Role Overview

We're looking for a Lead Software Engineer, Frontend to drive the development of world-class web and mobile experiences that engage and empower our members. As a hands-on technical leader, you'll architect performant, accessible, and scalable user interfaces using modern JavaScript frameworks, while mentoring engineers and shaping frontend best practices.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment, loves clean code, cares deeply about user experience, and is excited to build products that change lives.

What You'll Do

• Lead the architecture, development, and optimization of FuturHealth's web and mobile frontend experiences (React / React ).
  
  
• Own performance, accessibility, and usability standards across the frontend codebase.
  
  
• Collaborate closely with Product, Design, Backend Engineering, and Data teams to deliver high-quality, user-centered features.
  
  
• Introduce and uphold frontend engineering best practices, including CI/CD, testing frameworks, and code review norms.
  
  
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, and contribute to growing a high-performing engineering culture.
  
  
• Ensure frontend systems are compliant with healthcare privacy and security standards (HIPAA, HiTrust).
  
  

About You

• Experience:
• 6+ years of professional frontend development experience.
  
  
• 2+ years leading projects or teams in a senior/lead capacity.
  
  
• Proven track record delivering performant, scalable applications in production.
  
  
• Technical Skills:
• Expertise in React (Next.js a plus) and modern JavaScript/TypeScript.
  
  
• Strong understanding of frontend architecture, performance optimization, and responsive design.
  
  
• Familiar with cross-platform development (React ) and frontend testing (Jest, Cypress).
  
  
• Comfortable working with design systems and component libraries (Storybook or similar).
  
  
• Mindset & Communication:
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and passionate about product quality.
  
  
• Able to clearly communicate tradeoffs and influence technical decisions.
  
  
• Collaborative and comfortable in ambiguity; startup mindset with a desire to move fast and improve constantly.
  
  

Nice to Have

• Experience working in a HIPAA-compliant or healthtech environment.
  
  
• Familiarity with backend APIs and full-stack collaboration.
  
  
• Contributions to open-source or internal tooling.
  
  

The pay range for this role is $185,000 - 230,000. We offer a competitive salary package and may include variable compensation. Actual compensation is based on factors such as the candidate's location, skills, qualifications, and experience.
