Consumer Direct Care Network is seeking a Software Engineer II to design, develop, and maintain cloud-based and web application components. You will contribute to full-stack development, lead small projects, and mentor junior engineers while ensuring scalable code and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

The role emphasizes adherence to coding best practices, code reviews, and staying current with emerging technologies within an office environment in Missoula, MT.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
• 2–4 years of experience in software development
• Proficiency in object-oriented programming languages such as C# or Java
• Experience with relational and NoSQL database technologies (e.g., MSSQL, Cosmos DB)
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git)
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to shifting priorities
• Ability to work flexible and/or extended hours, if needed, to meet the job requirements
• Employees must provide their own reliable internet if working a remote/hybrid position

Responsibilities

• Independently develop website architecture for small to mid-sized projects
• Deploy and author code for cloud infrastructure and software components on the Azure platform
• Design and implement moderately complex user interactions on web pages
• Develop and optimize back-end website applications with minimal supervision
• Create and manage databases to support application functionality
• Ensure cross-platform optimization and application responsiveness
• Lead small projects through the full SDLC
• Design and develop basic APIs and support their integrations
• Participate in team discussions, sprint planning, and story refinement sessions
• Document technical solutions and acceptance criteria
• Collaborate with QA to ensure adequate test coverage
• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers
• Mentor Software Engineer I team members
• Guide user stories through SDLC phases with oversight
